Hello: I recieved my copy of v8.2 Pro today (UPS was a day late!) and it is the "full" version even though I only paid for the upgrade -- kewl! It installed and runs -- on the first try! Even better! FTR, I was unable to get v8.1 Personal to boot properly on this system: Asus A7N266-VM/AA Athlon XP 2100+ Tbred 'B' 512MB PC2100 onboard GeForce2 MX video (2D only) onboard nVidia sound Seagate Barracuda V 120GB (60GB partition) LinkSYS LNE100TX v5.1 10/100 NIC CTX PV500 LCD @ VESA 1024x768x24bit @ 60Hz So far, things are totally excellent! The auto updating, LAN configuration -- it all works. I'm happy! The only things that I can think of at the moment that need attention: I'd like to get 3D supported, and I've downloaded the NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4349.run from nVidia.com but I can't figure out how to install it; and I will try to run the onboard LAN instead of the LinkSYS. Like I said, v8.1 Personal had an issue booting with GRUB (I could boot the system with the CD and use the Manual Installation...) but v8.2 Pro is singing along! I'm sure that I will have questions for the group about networking with Win2K machines and getting "at" an Epson 900 printer that is being shared on a Win2K machine -- but for now, I enjoy the fact that it's running! :-) -- Sincerely, Neil Blanchard SuSE Linux 8.2 Professional
