Do not seem to have the kdm file in pam.d, that could be the cause too. Anyone got the settings please? I can re-create it the pam.d directory and re-run it tonight. Matt On 29 Jan 2001, James Ogley wrote:
Just a warning, I think that startx gnome works from the console though. Just do not want anyone to get into a panic in case this happened to them. Any fix from it? I am using kdm.
In the relevant files (xdm/kdm/gdm) in /etc/pam.d, comment out any reference to pam_devperm.so - this will be included in 7.1, but you can get away without it in previous versions. This will allow your *dm to work.
