When release support expires, many (most?) mirrors purge it. Thus mirrorbrain is more likely to give you a less favorable mirror. This for me is routine, as my primary DE is KDE3, which too frequently (often more than thrice a month) is largely rebuilt, but only lives on a mirror subset, as do most optional repos. -- Evolution as taught in public schools is religion, not science.
