I saw a post a while back about patching the standard 2.4.18 SuSE kernel with an acpi patch from, I think, www.brodo.de/english/pub/acpi/pci_irq/index.html
I can't get this to work and wondered if anyone else had any experience of this. I can't get my soundcard to work in my Toshiba Satellite 5005 because no IRQ is assigned to the soundcard. Or is tthere a later SuSE kernel available somewhere that might have better acpi support?
I don't know if this helps, but it sounds like it could be an APIC issue. I do not believe that the uniproc Kernel from SuSE has APIC support, though there is an option to install with an APIC Kernel, once installed, the uniprocessor Kernel will not have it enabled. Have you tried installing the SMP Kernel (which does have APIC support) to see if that makes a difference? Cheers, Leah -- I can't believe it's not UNIX!!! ------------------------------------------------------------ Leah Cunningham | (heinous)@openprojects #suse www.heinous.org | Linux geek, et al.
