Not in my case. It says: Possible Values: kdm, xdm, gdm, wdm, entrance, console, lightdm, sddm or any value
On my system (that file is still from 13.2 on my sys), it has:
head /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager ## Path: Desktop/Display manager ## Description: settings to generate a proper displaymanager config ## Type: string(kdm,kdm3,kdm4,xdm,gdm,wdm,console) ## Default: "" # # Here you can set the default Display manager (kdm/xdm/gdm/wdm/console). # all changes in this file require a restart of the displaymanager # DISPLAYMANAGER="gdm"
So I guess you have indeed played around with something.
The kdm4 is on the 3rd line.
Everybody has different content in that file. Means nothing. This is mine: ## Path: Desktop/Display manager ## Description: settings to generate a proper displaymanager config ## Type: string(kdm, xdm, gdm, wdm, console) ## Default: "" ## Config: xdm, kdm, gdm # # Here you can set the default Display manager (kdm/xdm/gdm/wdm/console). # DISPLAYMANAGER="lightdm" See? no kdm4 nor 3. :-P Oh, and I know why. :-P -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E.
