I want to be able to send mail as a result of something that happens within a program. The body of the mail is stored within a file. The mail server is on another machine on the network.
I see you solved your problem, but anyway, if you want a powerfull comandline mail program, try "nail". It is not included on the distro, you have to download and compile it. The home page is "http://omnibus.ruf.uni-freiburg.de/~gritter/" NAME nail - send and receive MIME conformant mail SYNOPSIS nail [-BFintv~] [-s subject] [-a attachment ] [-c cc-addr] [-b bcc-addr] [-r from-addr] [-h hops] to-addr . . . nail [-BeHiInNv~] [-T name] -f [name] nail [-BeinNv~] [-u user] You see there are options for setting the "from" and "to" addresses directly, and also for attaching files :-) -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
