So far I always installed a new harddisk ;-) but this time I have to upgrade, since the harddisk is just used 12 %!!!
I have never upgraded before. What do I need to take care of? I have some programs installed, which have not been in the distribution, like apache2, php, bind9, .... How can I make sure that these are not lost, or that the upgrade install again its version of these programs?
I upgraded from 7.3 to 8.0 with no problems (IIRC). During install, choose the update installed packages only or something like that. If what you have is newer, should be no problem.
