1. Do you you get audio when you try to play other audio and video files? Yes, I did. I only found the problem when trying to play a dvd.
2. Have you tried to disable pulseaudio?
I tried it in the course of my troubleshooting, but didn't find an easy way to do it when I googled how to do it. So in the course of looking for an easier way to do it in yast, I found the problem. Somehow, the audio board became unconfigured since I installed the operating system months ago. When I auto configured the board, the sound started working when playing dvd's, and had no effect on everything else. I don't know how I could get sound in everything else except dvd's, so I wasn't thinking in that mode when I posted asking for help. I thought since it only occurred with dvd's, it must be a software problem. Thanks for everyone's efforts on my behalf. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
