I still feel certain I've done stuff like:
find <dir> -type f | xargs zgrep -i blah
and seen something like "too many arguments" or whatever it is, but of course I can't reproduce that now.
Check the "bugs" section of the man page, when it talks about somecommand | xargs -s 50000 echo | xargs -I '{}' -s 100000 rm '{}' it may be related to what you mention. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
