Thanks. I did what you suggested and rchotplug start worked. The rest didn't work. The output of the second command is """mount point /mnt/camera doesn't exist"". Bill. On Saturday 01 February 2003 12:49, Mike wrote:

Hello List I have a (digital camera) Ricoh Caplio RR 30 and when I plug it in a USB, NO icon on the desktop. I drives me crazy . I don't know how to get it working. Gphoto etc doesn't work because this camera is not supported. I'm using SuSE 8.1. When using "'usbview"' I get """USB.UHCI Root Hub"""......Digital Still camera. Is there something what I haven't done? or forgot. Can anybody help me out here? Thanks very much.
My camera has a 3 position switch, photo, video and play back.
The USB only works when it is set to the playback position.
after setting the position correctly and turning the USB back on in the BIOS.
rchotplug start mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/camera
did the trick for me .
