Anyone know why my alsa is choppy? I tested OSS and it was fine. I was running SuSE 8.2 before and did not have this problem. Any fast fix for this? I have attached the modules.conf from 9.0. Maybe you can help me. :)
Check the permissions for the following devices, they should all be set to owner "root" Run as root this command (without quotes). "chown root /dev/*dsp* /dev/*midi* /dev/*mixer* /dev/sequencer* /dev/*audio* / dev/music /dev/aload* /dev/dmfm* /dev/mpu401* /dev/rawctl /dev/sndstat && chgrp audio /dev/*dsp* /dev/*midi* /dev/*mixer* /dev/sequencer* /dev/ *audio* /dev/music /dev/aload* /dev/dmfm* /dev/mpu401* /dev/rawctl /dev/ sndstat && chmod a+rwx /dev/*dsp* /dev/*midi* /dev/*mixer* /dev/sequencer* / dev/*audio* /dev/music /dev/aload* /dev/dmfm* /dev/mpu401* /dev/rawctl /dev/ sndstat" Report back if that solves it or not, if not I have some other things to check.
