For plain sound, certainly. Out of the box it has always worked for me. I'm not talking about "restricted media" that needs packman.
I'm talking about needing to upgrade Alsa and Pulse to versions in the multimedia repo, which is not the packman repo.
Ah! Thanks goodness. I'm glad you found something. Couple of weeks ago I re-installed my son's desktop with Leap15, and since then, problems with audio. All levels set tp 70%. In Yast/Sound I see three devices, all configured, but onle the second one plays a test sound through head-phones. I used the HDMI-cable towards the dispay previously. It used to work....
