Therefore, just like in a computer class - I expect to see a VERY ELABORATE and DETAILED - written - procedure - on how to file a report.
You know... filing a bug report is not that hard. You are hand-held every step of the way through the procedure.
Ultimately what it comes down to is logging into the Novell Bugzilla, and following the 3 step bug submission wizard. Every text box in the bug submit form is well documented/explained right in the form, and includes relevant examples. It really *is* easy... https://bugzilla.novell.com/enter_bug.cgi?product=openSUSE%2011.3&format=guided
There is also some documentation here which goes into detail on certain areas: http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Submitting_bug_reports http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Bug_reporting_FAQ but is 100% not required to file a bug.... it's just extra info.
Bug reporting in openSUSE is the easiest I've ever seen. It's well documented, you are guided with each and every relevant entry field. If someone can't understand the bug submit form... well... then there's little hope for them.

If it is so EASY then why aren't using it more - one possible answer is that the person really don't know what the hell he/she doing to fill in the text boxes. Case in point, when I was doing the Sys. Prog. support on an AS/400 with new users, a lady called us and said her terminal had - wavy and jumpy - text. We spent, literally, a half day - 4 hrs - on her problem - we switched out terminals, with another persons - same thing - after the switch. Before the switch, it was working fine. Replaced the coax cable with a new cable - still the same. Called IBM Support - no help. Called IBM Level 2 support - no help. Called an IBM rep to come on sight - no help. FINALLY, after about 4 hrs, we told the lady we have no idea - THEN - she FINALLY said - well every morning, the first thing I do is turn on this LITTLE fan - would that cause a problem. BINGO, LIKE MAGIC, WE TURNED OFF HER FAN - AND - THE WAVINESS - S T O P P E D. With people like this floatin' around - how are they going to fill in a - simple - error report.
