A default is a default and most people like journald and that's why
it's your default too.
Felix, syslog-ng is an alternative to systemd's journald, that already
proves that there are alternatives around and it's not hard to use
them. You can install any syslogger.

Based on reading http://en.opensuse.org/Syslog-ng I don't think syslog-ng is my cup of tea. What is there that is "something like" syslog-ng?
