Linux will only autoscan for one NIC at boot time. There are several
ways to fix this. If the drivers are compiled as modules, add
alias eth0 <3c59x module>
alias eth1 tulip
to /etc/modules.conf. If they are compiled into the kernel, add
append "ether=0,0,eth1"
to /etc/lilo.conf and rerun lilo.

Ok, I have suse 7.2 Card 1, 3c59x (external) Card 2, Linksys 10/100 [tulip] (internal)
I can insmod the card that doesn't work, and it works, but if I reboot, it seams that the card I insmod is the only one working, and the other one isn't working. And yes, this will be a sorta firewall.
any tips on where to start? I've done so much tinkinger my brain is fried.
