Subject: Linux Professional Institute (LPI) Testing at VUE!
Linux Professional Institute (LPI) will begin offering testing through
VUE test centers beginning 11 January, 2000. Their first test is a beta
exam, 1ABeta - General Linux 1 and will be offered worldwide for a price
of $100 USD. This is the first of fifteen tests they will eventually be
offering and we are excited to be testing partners with LPI. As a new
operating system, Linux is rapidly gaining acceptance throughout the
world and we expect the program to be very popular once it is fully
rolled out.
Note: if you need to convert U.S. dollars into the currency of your
testing center there are several web sites that offer this service.
Attached is a brief description of their program. Please insert this
document into your Testing Center Guide. Since their program is being
introduced gradually, please see Registration Manager for the most
current information on which exams are currently available. LPI
candidates will register for the exams through the web and at testing
centers. There will be no call center registration so you may see more
registrations at your center. Please make sure your staff are familiar
with the program.
If your center is currently offering Linux training and would like to be
listed on the LPI web site or if you are interested in offering Linux
training in the future, please visit the LPI Training website at
http://www.linuxtraining.org/addition.html for contact information.
