I really don't care at this point since it's difficult enough times to keep my head up. If i'm not supposed to be able to post here anymore so be it. Yes, there is alot of information to learn from that page no doubt.
Every group of people mix and interact following a set of rules, that can be written or "just known". People that don't adhere are often singled out. And a different group of people may have different rules, so it is a good idea when you join a new mail list to observe how they write and do the same ;-)
All we are asking is that you don't reply above the previous email leaving it intact, but below, as I am doing it now, and deleting superfluous text from the previous email. It is easy to do, and it is the ancient usage in internet mail lists and places such as Usenet or Fidonet. It facilitates us understanding things without sending long emails with old text we already have.
Just see how the other people are doing it. Takes a bit of practice, I know. Just try :-)
Top posting style reminds us of Microsoft ;-) I am seeing how this works a little bit now. I am confused by the various colours of the vertical lines on the left. Blue/Magenta/etc..etc... I hope this will get better for me since now I am seeing how I am trying not to toppost. :-| Something else you could do is, that in Thunderbird, Account settings, is "define your name". It doesn't have to be your full name, it can also be an alias. Just how do you want us to call you. Then your mail address will appear like:
"Some Name" adress@host.domain
Also the first line of the replies, instead of saying:
