Hi, This may have to go to the KDE list, to which I don't subscribe yet, but since there are a lot of knowledgeable people on this list I try here first. I'm writing a script that automatically changes mouse acceleration when I plug in an USB mouse into my laptop (touchpad and external mouse have different characteristics) and back when I unplug it. I have a way to detect the 'plug in' event and know where to change mouse acceleration (kminputrc), but how can I make KDE reload the new mouse settings? AFAI can tell (from using strace), when changing settings in Control Center, kcontrol talks to DCOPserver to make the new settings active. Can this be done from outside kcontrol? TIA, Martijn
