Ok, I did the said-impossible-thing: I dd'd my complete NTFS partition (with PRECISELY the same size!) over to my /dev/hda5 (with dd if=/dev/hda1 of=/data/nt4.img) now, with the help of scsijon and others, that i have come so far, i shall not drop pencils here. my problem is this: as i said, i dd'd all of it after i created /dev/hda5 with EXACTLY the same size (to avoid geometry problems). dd made a clean raw block by block byte by byte copy and so i can already mount it to read files on the ntfs disk. X-Mozilla-Status: 0009claration to LILO to boot /dev/hda5, but somehow i must have overseen something. when i select this one to boot, it gets stuck right away - so what have i been missing? Is it possibly the NTpartitionbootsector on the _old_ /dev/hda1 that i have not copied to /dev/hda5 or some ntloadr? "I shall fear not, for help is at hand" is my way out here... Any friendly help appreciated - excuse my english, thanks ahead. -- *º¤., ¸¸,.¤º*¨¨¨*¤Oliver@home*º¤., ¸¸,.¤º*¨¨*¤
