Hi ,
i understand ur point. Actually the thing is that i have a
network driver in windows. i need to write a driver which does the
corresponding work in suse linux..my driver takes the ethernet packets..
does some processing on it and passes the packets to the TCP stack .
moreover it might create its own tcp packets and send them to ethernet or
the TCP stack,, i hope it makes sense now ..
Thanks
Ashish

Hi All. i am a newbie to the Suse linux environemt. I need to write a network driver in suse.. any pointers on how to go about it???
Its a far bigger task that one would ask in a mailing list. If you have no expierence in writing "network drivers" you are not likely to gain it in a few emails. You need a book on TCP/IP. Oh, and what precisely is a "network driver"? That's not exactly a term I've seen in the linux world... There are "drivers" (modules) for various network card chip sets and layers and layers of tcp stacks, protocols, etc, but "network driver" sounds like someone wanting instructions for building a carburator for a Space shuttle solid rocket booster, if you catch my drift. -- _____________________________________ John Andersen -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
