yes, This is the output of lspci -vvv
Am I reading that wrong, or does your card actually have 256 MB of RAM?
No my card has 512 MB RAM.
When i open "NVIDIA X Server Settings", and then select "GPU 0- (Geforce 8600 GT)" i get the Graphics Card Information and there i can see that i have 512 MB. Just like on the box where the card was in when i bought it :)
My new card likewise shows 512 MB in the nVidia X Server Settings application.
i don't understand the information below
And likewise, I get this from "lspci -vvv" (when run as root, which gets more information that in is available to non-privileged users). I don't know why, but it, too, shows 256 MB, even though the card has 512 MB: -==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==- 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GeForce 8600 GT (rev a1) (prog-if 00 [VGA]) Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
