hi gang, after a recent update kde is a bit wacky now. The taskbar is still kde, but the desktop and file manager are now gnome! This only happened on 1 user, the other users are OK. I was wondering about running the kde wizard that shows up when you first install suse but I don't recall the command to make that run. I tried looking in the kde docs and help section...but no luck. What is a good way to get the default kde settings back?
Thanks,
Oskar Oskar, check the archives or search for gnome and kde, or kde and nautilus at http://www.netsys.com/suse-linux-e. I did it for you ...from the archives ...

At some point, you ran nautilus. This, by default, will draw your desktop for you. What you need to do is to start Nautilus explicitly, then go to Edit->Preferences, Desktop & Trash, then deselect "Use Nautilus to draw the desktop" and click OK. Thereafter, even if you *do* run nautilus, it won't take your desktop over. (Could this please go into the FAQ? It's come up quite a few times now.)
