Second, the vast majority of Linux users DO have root.
LOL You'd have no lan left within 5 seconds!
Its just that most Linux users don't work in corporate environments.
Most Linux users are using their own installation on their own box(s). These users probably out number corporate users by 10 to 1. (figures pulled entirely out of my left ear based on organizations I'm familiar with).
Lots of windows users unwittingly use Linux servers, but that's a different situation.
Yeah, I see your point. Linux to me has always been part of a network with one admin and many users. I'd forgot that it was only a year ago that I realised that people use Linux for themselves on a single computer. In fact I asked on this list if anyone did. I think it's great that people are using it on their own boxes. I now have 11.4 and ubuntu on my laptop and it has become a conversation piece when others see the beauty of KDE or the simplicity of Unity for the first time. I still think however that if you are not using Linux on a network, you are not really using much of what it's best at. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
