According to Yast, KDM4. Desktops are not something I play around with, so I have whatever 42.3 provided by default. When I search YaST software management using 'kdm4' it says 'No Results.'
So I think you need to provide more explanation.
By contrast, SDDM does return results. Neither does kde5. But 'kde plasma' returns hits for plasma-5. So again, I think you need to try harder to help yourself and others trying to help you.
In Yast sysconfig, under displaymanager it says kdm4. BTW, this is a direct copy 'n paste to show exactly what is in that box.
Sorry, what is a 'direct copy 'n paste' of what box? What exactly do you mean by 'Yast sysconfig'? In my case, under System/'/etc/sysconfig/editor', under DISPLAYMANAGER it says 'lightdm'.
The info for that setting is:
File: /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager Possible Values: kdm, kdm3, kdm4, xdm, gdm, wdm, entrance, console or any value
Not in my case. It says: Possible Values: kdm, xdm, gdm, wdm, entrance, console, lightdm, sddm or any value So I guess you have indeed played around with something. Since YaST doesn't find any hits for kdm4 for me, I suppose you probably have some repository enabled (i.e. not standard) that I don't.
Default Value: Description:
Here you can set the default Display manager (kdm/xdm/gdm/wdm/entrance/console). all changes in this file require a restart of the displaymanager
