In TBird (a) download messages is checked (b) Leave message on server is UNcheck -
yet, after they are downloaded to TBird, on webmail, they are transferred to the Trash folder.
P.S. AT&T - swears - it's NOT their side !
TIA, Duaine
Have you checked what the setting is to retain messages even though they have been deleted?
And if AT&T are telling you this then they are lying thru their teeth - they are probably retaining those messages for the NSA.

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking however - locally - deleted messages are moved to Trash folder, but, nothing like that is set far AT&T servers.
My question was directed at what the settings are at the AT&T end. But at the same time, do you have any time delay settings either in TB or at the AT&T end?
But wait......You mention WEBMAIL which is something done thru a web browser isn't it? Or do you really mean that what you are talking about is along the lines of using gmail where your mail client (Thunderbird) gets/sends mail to your account at AT&T? If so then AT&T has something screwed up (provided YOUR settings in TB are correct).

Just called AT&T and - literally - everything goes through their WEBMAIL service - so - no matter what email client tells to server to do - all - emails are going to be sent to the TRASH folder - and - in order to - literally - delete them from their TRASH folder - you HAVE to do it through their WEBMAIL interface. - - - - - - DUMPING AT&T EMAIL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aaaah, a wise move no doubt :-) .
Just a question arising purely from curiosity: why do you simply use your TB using your ISP? I mean I see people using gmail even though their ISP is not 'gmail' and it seems that they do this to hide their real name. I mean, my ISP is iinet.net.au and my TB is set to send mail thru iinet.net.au under my real name.
Of course I am asking this without knowing anything about how things 'work' in USA so if what I am saying is totally off the planet then educate me :-) .

I my case, I'm using the email service because I have a U-VERSE account - which email service is included. -- Duaine Hechler Piano, Player Piano, Pump Organ - Tuning, Servicing & Rebuilding (314) 838-5587 / dahechler@att.net / www.hechlerpianoandorgan.com Home & Business user of Linux - 13 years -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
