In TBird (a) download messages is checked (b) Leave message on server is UNcheck -
yet, after they are downloaded to TBird, on webmail, they are transferred to the Trash folder.
P.S. AT&T - swears - it's NOT their side !
TIA, Duaine
I'm not sure I understand the problem. That's how the system works. When you download your e-mail it is sent to trash. When you delete spam it goes to trash. A day or two later it all disappears from trash. It's kind of a backup in case you delete something and need it. If you don't collect it it just goes wherever used electrons go for recycling. No problem.
OK, I'm using TBird to access my @att.net account. AT&T only SUPPORTS their WEBMAIL service. So, even though I'm telling TBird to download my email - and - telling AT&T services to delete it - instead - the emails are being downloaded then they are moved to the TRASH folder. THEN to delete from - THEIR - TRASH folder, you have to login to their WEBMAIL service and then delete them from the trash folder. In the past, TBird would download them - and - tell AT&T to delete them - which would really happen. Which is the whole point about using an email client - they are NOT stored on any "cloud" server. -- Duaine Hechler Piano, Player Piano, Pump Organ - Tuning, Servicing & Rebuilding (314) 838-5587 / dahechler@att.net / www.hechlerpianoandorgan.com Home & Business user of Linux - 13 years -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
