Have you tried using the net-install CD? If not, and you have a good/fast connection or can share the contents of the DVD across a network, you can install that way.

Actually, it will also work from a hard drive, though I haven't tried that method. With this method, you simply copy the ISO to the hard drive (possibly USB drive?) and install from it.
