I have had no problems with sony vaio's I can even get drivers in linux that they don't release for windows updates for my particular model (e.g. jog dial stuff for win2k is not available for "legal reasons", but I have it for linux :) Plus, since sony is retail, I found it to be the cheapest (when compared with other companies of similarly spec'd laptops) by severl hundred. You just need to shop around the internet (e.g. cnet.com or something) and compare prices for sony's ...something you can't do with a dell. Or, you could check linux journal, or linux magazine ads for companies that sell name brand laptops with linux pre-installed. -jeric -=JericAtSbcglobalDotNetwork=- 3 days 15 hrs 52 min, since last reboot.
