Hi
I am using my openSUSE 12.3 x86_64 box with KDE to run some long simulations. The program is started in a terminal window and it runs smoothly, but I have noticed that after long period of time the KDE desktop crashes, however the terminal window is still in place and my simulation is unaffected. Also, KDE desktop seems to be able to restart, but the functionality is no longer the same, so the only way is to reboot the PC. Does anyone experienced something similar .
thanks
Not quite that, but after a while, the desktop may become flakey, requiring restarting. Also, both Firefox and Seamonkey bog down after being open for a while. I do not know if the two problems are related. I also can no longer open man pages with Alt-F2 and #<command>. Instead of Konqueror opening at the man page, Seamonkey opens. I'm also running 12.3 x86_64. In general, performance drops with time. I have a bug report in about the man page issue, but no fix. It appears to affect only existing users. If I create a new user, it works fine for that user.
Hi Indeed it might be related to the fact that .kde folder contains older configuration files, I have updated my distribution instead of installing a new one from scratch. -- Bogdan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
