OMG! I just realized, my laptop still runs 11.4 and some older (but newer than Linda's) version of T'Bird, and like you I run dovecot and don't download.

Yes, loads, runs, KER THUNK! I don't see that advantage over the threading I have and I don't see why I have to keep all the messages around - and on my workstation!
