Ah hah! Will do and I'll report back. I've got to shuffle that drive back into the laptop to check. So it's going to be an hour or so. Wonder why the java plugin went nuts? I haven't loaded anything special in that regard, just what 11.3 pulls in. Thanks.

No, since my first guess is still my guess. You are still crashing in IcedTeaPlugin.so@0x9409 So how about just doing what I proposed? safe-mode is only for addons not for plugins.
