Seems to be the easiest way out - provided you can get amavis to auto-start clamd:
in /etc/systemd/system/clamd.service.d/carlos.conf:
[Service] Wants=
My idea was to find out how to do it, here, experiment, then suggest the optional improvement to the maintainer.
