Ben, Thanks for the quick answer, but I don't think I made myself clear. The kernel sources appear to be 2.4.2, and not 2.4.4. In fact I actually did do make cloneconfig etc, but it gave me a 2.4.2 kernel. I could use the 2.4.7 sources, but I am not sure where to find them. I only seem to be able to find the 2.4.2 sources. Install the kernel sources then cd into the directory and type 'make cloneconfig' (without the '') and it will clone the options of your running 2.4.X kernel and then you can execute 'make xconfig' and just choose the addition options that you wish or take out options as you wish. You would then just compile it as normal. You can follow the instructions in the book for this. After all is said and done you will have your new running 2.4.4 kernel. If I might suggest something..unless you need .4 why not go for .7 since it's been released as stable from SuSE.
