Did anyone already try ADSL with SuSE Linux? Or know what is required?
The german Telecom is also planning to introduce ADSL here in Germany. Unfortunately these devices are running "PPP over Ethernet", which is currently not supported by Linux :(
According to what I've heard, the Danish telecom will install an ADSL box that talks ATM, so there has to be an ATM card in the Linux box.
Are you sure about this? Requiring an ATM card would be a serious barrier for most users, since ATM is not very common in this area.
But why can't the ADSL box talk Ethernet?
I would think so. The german ADSL box has a RJ-45 connector, as used by ethernet cards.
