I have to remove different files from a dir say /root/extra listing like:
file1 file2 .file3 file4 file5
that means files with and without leading point.
man rm and trying rm -f * did not bring success? where should i go now?
Go to a bookstore and buy a book about the shell you use (probably Bash). O'Reilly's books are good and available online (http://www.oreilly.com/). Man pages describe syntax and options, good books describe _how_ it works and give examples. There are many other documents on the Internet, e.g. ftp://ftp.cwru.edu/pub/bash/FAQ, but books are usually the best start. -- Alexandr.Malusek@imv.liu.se
