$ webpin artha FAILED: received error from server: 404 Not Found Seeing the same with the package from the openSUSE:/Tools:/ repo for TW. But, I also see it pulls in a python2 package. Which means webpin is not been moved to python3 I guess. Haven't heard about anybody using it on recent openSUSE versions. My bets are on 'opi'.
If all it needs is python2->3 move, and the databases are actually working, then it would be great to make the change because the webpin output is far more informative than what you get with opi and it doesn't remain running wanting to install the package for you.
Do you know if the databases/indexes for webpin are built? If so, I don't mind seeing what is needed for a python2->3 migration.
I see a webpin package available for Leap 15.2,
You do? That's curious, because: <https://software.opensuse.org/search?p=1&baseproject=openSUSE:Leap:15.1&q=webpin> doesn't. Oh, failure of the search again. Fidling with the controls I find it for 15.1 again in Tools repo.
but isn't the real problem that the website webpin uses isn't being updated ?
Yes, that is so. And apparently the server can't be placed on openSUSE public servers, because it searches packman (or was it nvidia?). At least that's what somebody said long ago. http://webpinstant.com/ One feature of webpin was that it searched for files too, not only packages. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
