Hi there,
I have a SB Live working fine under SuSE 7.2. I use the latest drivers obtained from Creative.
I am at work and so currently parted from my (lovely) Linux PC at home so this is from memory:
As I recall when you build the creative driver, the resulting module is called emu10k1. But the kernel is configured (and the modules.conf) to look for a module called snd-card-emu10k1.
So to get it working, dig down your /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/sound/emu10k1 and see what name you have and rename as necessary. (Dont forget the .o extension!)
Not necessary, the kernel knows squat about the alsa drivers. Just install the creative drivers as in the README and remove or comment out the alsa modules stuff at the end of modules.conf. -- Regards Cliff -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq and the archives at http://lists.suse.com
