3. After I edited these two files I ran 'apt-get update && apt-get upgrade'. Here is the new output ...
The output shows you that the packages that have conflicts: Installed New gnome-vfs2-extras-0.99.10-0.ximian.7.5 gnome-vfs-extras-0.99.10-SuSE.ulb.1 kdepim3-3.1.1-76 kdepim3-sync-3.1.3-18 kdepim3-3.1.1-76 kdepim3-time-management-3.1.3-18 libgtkhtml3.0_2-3.0.8-0.ximian.7.1 gtkhtml3.0-3.0.8-SuSE.ulb.1 libmrproject-0.9.1-0.ximian.7.7 mrproject-0.9.1-55
I just made a update to my "apt" script that provides the above output. It can be obtained by adding the option --rpm-whatconflicts together with the actions install, upgrade and the like. See: --rpm-whatconflicts Shows a list with packages that have conflicting files according rpm. This option comes in handy when an install or upgrade complains that file X from package A conflicts with package B. If this happens use this options to obtain a list that shows the conflicting installed and install candidate package. linux: # apt --rpm-whatconflicts install ktamaga The following packages have conflicting files: Installed Install Candidate ---------- ------------------ kdelibs3-3.1.3-48 ktamaga-0.7.2-90 The script can be obtained from (see remark below first, you need version 0.20-030831): http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/apt4rpm/apt4rpm/client/apt P.S. it may take some time before the update appears on the web, as sourceforge uses a backup server for this. -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless
