All, In the past, there was a fonts alias file where you could move the font you wanted as the default for each, serif, san-serif, and monospace to the first in the list of aliases for each of the generic types. The file used to be: /etc/fonts/suse-generic-names.conf where you had: <!-- Serif faces --> <alias> <family>Georgia</family> <family>Bell MT</family> <family>Thorndale AMT</family> <snip> <!-- Sans-serif faces --> <alias> <family>Trebuchet</family> <family>Segoe</family> <family>Andale Sans</family> <snip> <!-- Monospace faces --> <alias> <family>Fixed</family> <family>Cumberland AMT</family> <family>SUSE Sans Mono</family> <snip> It looks like that file is now: /usr/share/fontconfig/conf.avail/58-suse-post-user.conf Is this the place to set the wanted default, or should we create some xyz.local file so it does not get overwritten? -- David C.
