I had been having this problem before, that why I switched to red hat but Im back now.
My network (NT) assigns statics IP (and thats no prob. while working with any M$ OS or Red Hat) but somehow I am not getting the IP when using SuSE.
This happened to me before with v6.4 and now v7.0
Yast -> System Admin -> Network Config -> Network Base select your Ethernet card, hit F3 (Auto IP adress). That's all there is to it. (I have on my desk a 486 laptop w/ suse70 and I just instlled a Ghz PIII w/ 7.1 and both use DHCP whitout any problems) Kind regards, -- Gerhard den Hollander Phone +31-10.280.1515 Technical Support Jason Geosystems BV Fax +31-10.280.1511 (When calling please note: we are in GMT+1) gdenhollander@jasongeo.com POBox 1573 visit us at http://www.jasongeo.com 3000 BN Rotterdam JASON.......#1 in Reservoir Characterization The Netherlands This e-mail and any attachment is/are intended solely for the named addressee(s) and may contain information that is confidential and privileged.
