You mean that it is started automatically in runlevel 5? That's a bug, it should not be started in that level because it can cause conflicts with the X mouse service.

It does work possibly on most situations on runlevel 5, yes. However, it has potential for conflict, and thus it must never be started in runlevel 5 by default (or target graphical or whatever).
