I have a bunch of Intel video 42.3 systems going back to 965, none of which are Sandy Bridge, all of which are running on the modesetting driver, none of which are laptops, and none of which are locking up the GPU.
I suppose you should thank me for getting the bug fixed at the release of 42.3 then.
Thanks :-) It shows that I really should have tested 42.3 beta on my laptop test partition at the time, but I didn't. My fault for that. I thought it was too old to be affected. I have another machine with Intel video, but this one works fine: Isengard:~ # inxi -c0 -G Graphics: Card: Intel Device 22b1 Display Server: X.org 1.18.3 drivers: intel (unloaded: modesetting, fbdev, vesa) tty size: 216x29 Advanced Data: N/A for root Isengard:~ # uptime 14:07pm up 2 days 18:28, 4 users, load average: 0.54, 0.60, 0.57 Isengard:~ # - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
