There was an issue with a server (first not reachable at all, then the repo no longer there). So the error actually changed halfway ;).
If I did everything right last night, the repo should be back up completely (and the vlc-beta packages have been updated to latest snapshot too).
Sorry for the inconveniences (well: a server not reachable is not much I can do against it.. unfortunately).
