Greg: I don't know about that one, but I learned a lot from **Sams Teach Yourself Linux in 24 Hours** by Bill Ball (mine is Second Edition), which has the advantage of coming with its own CD-ROM (installing Caldera). It's **really** a beginner's book, Linux Kindergarten material, won't satisfy your craving for a PhD reading... BTW, having a different OS (Caldera) is at once frustrating and illuminating.
