Thanks, I saw something about this in Loki's FAQ on their
web site. Also something about starting the game w/
the "-nocdrom" option. I guess for the latter, you'd need to
install the movies on your hard drive.....

That sounds similar to what I was seeing, except my sound was fine.
What I finally found was that D3, unlike Q3A, won't switch to 16-bit
color on its own. Try exiting X and restarting in 16-bit mode. On my
video card at least, there is no hardware acceleration in 24-bit
color.

Anybody got this game to work properly? I can get it to run....sort of. The opening movie looks fine, but the sound stops and starts every few seconds. Also, when I get to the initial configure screen, the mouse pointer is veeeerrrrry slooooow to move. I move the mouse and sit and wait 15 seconds or so for the pointer to actually move. So that's as far as I have gotten - can't even configure the thing......
What I'm running on: 7.1 professional "stock " 2.4 kernel Xfree86 4.03 GeForce2 MX 32 MB NVIDIA 0.9-769 drivers 320MB RAM 500 MHz AMD K6-2 Soundblaster Live!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
TIA,
