I thought there was some sort of pre and post install scripts that could be run when installing RPM's. Specifically, I installed the mod_frontpage RPM, but the stanza to activate the module in /etc/sysconfig/apache didn't get added. I wound up installing the apache_contrib RPM, and suddenly that stanza showed up, allowing me to turn on the extensions. I would have thought there to be a script that appended various sections onto the existing config files, but I don't see anything like that when looking "inside" the RPM with Midnight Commander. Perhaps the installation process actually just replaces them, but I don't see an /etc/sysconfig/apache file in the apache_contrib RPM either. My question, then, is how does this work? How does the process of installing the apache_contrib RPM wind up editing /etc/sysconfig/apache? Furthermore, why doesn't the mod_frontpage RPM have this same feature that would add the section it needs? (Why is it left to the apache_contrib RPM?) Thanks and regards, dk
