Hi I believe that pinging the internal LAN machines from outside using masquerading is difficult to do... There must be some more clever people than me to guide You with it... But, if You just want to access WAN from Your LAN using masquerading, it is easy to set up... Just go thru the firewall/masquerading rules, and remember to enable "route = yes" in rc.config, and it should start working.. Jaska. Viestissä Sunnuntai 14. Greetings,
This may not be the right forum... since it is not SuSE only question ... but I would appreciate it if someone could clue me in.
Anyway...
I used to have a SDSL connection with /29... my ISP raised the price from $50 to over $200. So I am cancelling them once I get this other set up. I have since gotten a ADSL account for $50, but only a /30 (1 useable IP Address.)
I have a home network with SuSE as firewall, inside the firewall, I have a couple of PC's, webserver and DNS.
Remembering that I only have 1 IP address. What do I set up so that (from outside) if I ping a host by name, that the host machine answers the ping, DNS request, or webserver; not the firewall?
Thanks Randy
