Fluff inside the wheel, difficult to remove.
Usually the ball is easy to just pop out of the holder. It certainly was in the Marble FX and the M575, and the Kensington too.
The ball is easy. Scroll wheels are much harder.
I have the same issue with a Logitech gamer's mouse I bought recently, 2nd hand. Scrolling is erratic and starts in the wrong direction.
There are many people complaining in fora all over the web, but only a very few who isolated it: fluff in the wheel. Cleaning requires complete disassembly. So far, I've not had the time: it's cheaper to switch to a working (but inferior) mouse. :-/
I did not disassemble it completely, there is a spring that I don't know if I'd be able to put right after. I made do with a crochet needle or hook <https://www.senshoku.es/1378-large_default/aguja-crochet-drops-basic-4-5mm.jpg> <https://www.diyconlana.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/2_4_3_1-1-e1528200683232.jpg> The thin one. That needle, tweezers like in the photo below, and blowing hard with my mouth, not the blowing compressor. <https://images.app.goo.gl/VG3g6Upc1FiFYAzn8> Second time I do it, the other must have been two or three years ago at least. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E.
