This server is behaving like a MUA, because it is a webmail server. And it imposes that behaviour on the associated pop server (I understand it does not provide imap). If AT&T is using Yahoo, then it does support imap. However, he may have to go directly to Yahoo, rather than the addresses provided by AT&T.
Here's a link to the Yahoo info: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/smallbusiness/bizmail/pop/pop-39.html
Also, since his email is actually on Yahoo servers, he can use the Yahoo smartphone & tablet email app to access it.
Wrong - I was told - explicitly - by AT&T that they only - allow access - by pop - NOT by imap
The page carlos posted says it only works for mobile devices, But it can't hurt to try it. Also, don't believe a single word of what AT&T tells you. They will tell you the moon is made of swiss cheese if it will get you to stop complaining. -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
