CUPS gives similar results for local printer - serial port #1, LPT #1, HPLIP - i.e. No USB port connected printers
it looks like whatever does the discovery of printers that both Yast and CUPS use is flawed
Same experience here...I went from 132. to Tumbleweed the other day and Kyocera PS printer does not work any longer (it can print its own self-test page) nor it's possible to detect/configure it with either YAST or directly via CUPS.
Same printer is detected on my netbook which also has TW, but not same updates.
Will try to investigate further...
I have two networked printers that work with 13.2. Both are setup on TW BUT will not print anything. Somewhere on TW printing is F***ed up.
I did some testing based on 13.2 and then updateing CUPS to the same version as TW, gives me still full detection and after installing the driver (ppd), a working printer. Return to standard 13.2 and updateing udev removes the prior working printer. Based on that, I'd lay the finger on udev as cause here. CUPS gets the false blame, as for detection it relays on udev. No more time available for testing that, sorry. - Yamaban. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
